The extension is designed to use only the data needed to detect supported pages, open HousingBrain report links,
and sync sign-in or membership state for user-facing features.
What The Extension Processes
- The URL of the active browser tab when the popup or content scripts need to determine whether the current page is supported.
- Address or location information found on supported pages so the extension can build a HousingBrain report link.
- HousingBrain account state needed to determine whether the user is signed in and whether member access is active.
- Extension settings chosen by the user, such as environment, auto-open behavior, and floating-button behavior.
How The Data Is Used
- Detecting supported listing or location pages.
- Building and opening HousingBrain report links.
- Syncing sign-in state between the HousingBrain website and the extension.
- Opening HousingBrain account pages such as pricing, dashboard, and profile tools.
- Saving extension preferences locally in the browser.
Where Data Is Stored
The extension stores:
- Extension preferences in
chrome.storage.sync.
- Session-related account state in
chrome.storage.local.
Stored session data is used so the extension can remember whether the user is signed in and whether member access is active.
Who The Extension Communicates With
The production extension communicates with HousingBrain domains used for authentication, session checks, logout, and report or account flows.
